Forget Calgon, Bring on the Genie!!

First wish, I wish I had not taken this assignment. Second wish, same as the first. And thirdly, guess you get the drift same as the first. This is the worst assignment I have been on and the worst experience I have ever had in my life. The hospital and staff are not all that bad, it is the hours (nighttime), the being put on call, being called off. This stupid air card.,. it times out, don't connect, etc etc etc. This is nothing but a little po dunk town. Nothing to do, nothing to see, and surely don't want to make many friends because I don't speak Spanish, won't be able to communicate with them very much at all. Okay have gotten that off my chest, lol. Time to drag on in to work. Last night had 2 ICU patients and rest are overflow from Med Surg. Be interesting to see what we have tonight. Today

Well got to quickly switch over to "night" sleeping etc. Off to the daggone laudromat, first trip there so this should be interesting. Owner did not bring AC like he was supposed to. So will be sleeping in hot house maybe next few days, but usually freezer on living room end and hot on other. Who the heck knows.

Ex was pain in the patooty yesterday. He took fuse out of lawn mower and locked it down and then claims he did not. hellooooooo who else would have done it. Then when I get mad over it he says I am mean, he is such a goof!! Like he has any power over me to make me feel badly anymore. Have long since learned to tune him out. Oh well. Let me get ready and go do laundry and will update later. And lol, have been told peeps can't figure out how to comment so will check that out too. Loves Donna

Missed posting Yesterday, recapping yesterday and today

Well yesterday was another terrible day in this traveling experience, well it started the day before, lol. Okies was coming off of nights so my "days" are mixed up and I have to think what happened when.

Tuesday I had to come over here and count every "fork" in the apartment with realtor. As crazy, lol, took us almost 2 hours to "count" every thing that was in the apartment. (Turned this Swamp cooler on) Unloaded what I had in car here, then went back to Hotel to sleep and pack up rest of my stuff there. Took me till about 5 pm and arrived back here with rest of my stuff, except sleeping stuff if was still hot over here, planned on sleeping at hotel. Went to eat dinner, came back to the house and picked Fancy up cause it was still very warm in here. Back to hotel. Watched Dancing with Stars results and having hearing the herd of elephants over me once again decided I would just head on over to house and start my stay there. Checked out of hotel, came to house. About 930 pm, went to put my lenses in and nooooooooooo freaking water. Ackkkkk!!! Checked all faucets, yep no water. Confused me cause flushed toilet earlier in day and that about all I remember of water usage (what I get when you doing stuff in a sleep deprived daze). Called realtor who was like its 930 pm just what can I do about it at this time of night?? What a ding dong, helllloooooo call the owner and find out how to turn the water on. Went to bed no CPAP and hot hot hot in the bedroom, freezer in living room area mind ya. Got to love this Swamp cooler, have no clue how people how here live like this. Awoke on Wednesday morning.

Well I woke up on Wednesday morning, well either swamp cooler kicked in or due to the fact air temp outside drops to 50 degrees outside, the "heat" came on. Terrible sinus cold, sore throat and feel like death warmed over. Will be lucky if I do not get pneumonia. Can't lay in the bed though, cable man coming by to hook up cable to that very large TV in living room. Hey, it makes racket and I can see a pic on it, I am grateful and happy. Slept off and on, drugged up as much as possible. But boy do I want out of this place. This has been the most worst experience I have had and do NOT want any more assignments like this. Actually, I told my recruiter that I am coming home at the end of this assignment, either get a job there or find another agency. This has been one big mess since I got out here. UGH!!

But today, alas it is always a good day after a terrible day. Ever notice that.?? Still got some of my cold, but drugging up as much as possible. Should feel rested, lol, slept 12 hours, lmao. Wanted a nap this afternoon, but wouldn't allow myself because work Day shift tomorrow. (Only 12 more working days after tomorrow) Manager out here called to check on me and to see if I would reup my contract, ummm didn't say it this way but Hell NO!! Told her that I liked the hospital and the employees but with my "wonderful" experience here think I will just move on. Let me tell you there is absolutely nothing and when I say nothing, I mean nothing, to do out here. Unless you want to drive 1.5 hours to head to El Paso. I have decided that at one point the highway (I-10) came through the main road here and then the highway "grew" and went outside the town and there went the town. Houses here a run down looking. And I have seen numerous homeless people roaming around.

Fancy likes the house though, she has settled on down. Think she likes being in a big open room when she is in her cage not a tiny little space. She is a good dog. Can teach her to do anything, but..... not to jump on people, lmao. She is just too friendly. Oh well. That is the highlights of last few days. Uploaded new pics and used another uploader. Getting reports that it works better. Take care all.

Been promised by my recruiter a Premo assignment next, lol. Hawaii??????? LOL Okay will assume could possibly be home week after May 23rd some time, not sure. Mom and Sis going to fly out here and ride in with me and see the "country", was quite interesting riding out here. Oops I never did write about that. Another day. Loves ya all Donna

New Apartment

Okay got almost all my stuff over to the apartment. If that is what you call it, lol. Okay first of all either a) people in this area tolerate warmer temps in their homes or b) this swamp cooler thing ain't worth a crap. It is hot as hot over there. I am wondering how in the heck I am going to sleep during the day, wish I had thermometer over there to tell what room temp is. Actually I do, it is in one of the containers I toted in over there. Will unpack it tomorrow morning. Debating now as to whether to head back over there after Dancing with Stars results or wait till in the morning.

Fancy of course loves it there. She runs in the little yard. Left her in her cage there and went to get some supper and as far as I know not a peep out of her and she was sitting calmly in the cage. Dang dog!!

Awaiting responses as to whether pics are working on the first one now. I switched to photo bucket instead of fotki, so we shall see. Hope all is doing well and will expound on the great life here in Deming tomorrow. Take care all Donna

Recap of Frist Night Shift

Well worked first night, if you want to call it working, lol. could have put all the work that I did in one hour, lol. Read book, did sudoku, ate and ate and ate, lol. Ate fruit trying to watch what I eat, hehe.

Got put on call tonight. So means I got to kind of stay up in case they call me in. Going to try and make it till 2 am, and then will call in and see how ER status is and all. Kind of works out cause tomorrow supposed to move into the "house" will have photos soon. "Granny" still says she cannot see the photos. Hope all works out cause not sure if Fancy barked or not. But had hang up phone calls from 830-930 am this morning while I was trying to sleep, being all my family and friends have my cell phone number just took receiver off the hook. So FYI Comfort Inn might say they are Pet Friendly but rethink that thought. Dogs are like children, too you know. You can train em and bring em up well, but once they out of your sight do you really know what they do?? and do you have any control over what they do?? Ummmm No, like I can make the dog not bark.

Saturday Blahs

Well yesterday had issues with Verizon Aircard, my "peoples" let me down, lol. Was difficult to keep it connected so gave up and did not work on blog any. Did do a lit more site seeing here though and have more pictures to upload. I am adding borders to all the pics and putting a description of what each picture is so everyone will know kind of what they are looking at. Waiting on "Granny" to look at the Chesapeake Bay pictures to make sure she can "read" the print. Actually made the pictures bigger too, hehe. Still working on that wonderful layout and prettiness. Time to haul clothes downstairs to wash. Still at the hotel. Found out cheaper to use their laundry stuff than the laundromat I found. So going to get them done today. Looked at a house yesterday and if Corp gets things worked out will be heading there Tuesday or Wednesday. Am thinking Wednesday might be better day. Can come in crash for a few hours on Tuesday and then get up get stuff ready to roll out of here. No washer dryer at the house either which stinks but maybe Fancy won't bark as much while I am away. Will add more to this later. Take care all!!

Calgon Take me Awayyyyyyyy

Well came home yesterday after work and was tired so didn't bother to "blog". I have been mousing around the room and was going to head out and explore town and get some things together to go to laundry mat. yeah me won't that just be fun!! Anyway had to go get room card thingys re-keyed. One was broken and other was afraid date was going to run out cause originally was only supposed to be here at hotel till today, now staying till end of contract. Well at the front desk, little snippy person stated has no one been in touch with you? We have had several complaints regarding your dog barking and we have been trying to get in touch with you. I stated only day phone rang in room was Tuesday. One of those was at 921 pm and I know that was not my dog barking because we were in the bed asleep. I have already discussed what to do if complaints come in about dogs barking what was I to do. And recruiter stated not to worry that they hotel will call corporate and besides hotel allows animals and should know there will be some barking. I am like what the heck am I going to do if I don't have anywhere to live cause there ain't no where out here. And I mean no where. I am extremely worried that I am going to be homeless 1850 miles from any one I know and then what the heck am I supposed to do. I really like the agency I am with, but this is absolutely ridiculous to be sent some where with out proper housing. I know if you ain't out here you would think, hmmm got to be somewhere but I am telling you this is a kind of run down town. My manager at the hospital says that only about 20% of the employees at the hospital probably live "in town" rest are at least 45 mis or so out. Am trying not to be upset about it. I think at times heck will just get rid of the dog, no one in family can handle her (cause she is a bit hyper), but I can usually control her a smidge. And she loves me so much and I love her so much would break both of our hearts. Sure hope that tomorrow is a better day!! Okies going to work on getting some of these pics up on here, so good luck to me, lol!! Donna

Tuesday 2nd Day Orientation

Went to orientation yesterday at the hospital. Mimbres Memorial Hospital. The people were really nice. Might pick up some Spanish out here. Kept hitting the snooze bar this morning so not a lot of time. But just wanted to drop a line that all is going well. Check back soon, hmmm prolly Thursday will work on the "code" on this thing some make it presentable and add some pics. Take care!!

Todays Adventure

Well went out and found the hospital today, well I knew where it was, lol. But did the test drive to see how long it would take me to get there. Ummmm 5 mins or less, lol. It is about 8 blocks from the hotel. Have some pictures of the hospital and other things will try to get uploaded later tonight. Not sure how all that works on here.

Been bored silly today, got up went down for the breakfast. Then came back upstairs stayed up an hour, took a nap. Got up stayed up a couple hours another nap. Then messed around, brought more uniforms up here. And lastly off for supper. Ate at the great KFC, then to Wally World. Am thinking I am going to hunker in to this hotel. Not seeing any other living arrangements nearby that are suitable. This whole town is kind of "old". People are not really friendly either, not that "southern hospitality" I am used to. And to top it off, ummmm, most speak "spanish". Well not all, was quite surprised that a customer in KFC was ordering in Spanish and the employee who looked Hispanic, stated sorry sir I don't speak Spanish. I about busted out laughing. Whooohooo you tell em, this is America speak English or go home!!! Hmmm wonder if that will work with the patients cause I am going to bet that they going to speak Spanish too. Wait till they get a hold of my Southern Drawl, lol. Anyway that about all I am doing to this thing today.

Will work on getting the pics I have taken around here uploaded and viewable and the "prettiness" of the site tomorrow. Done got bored with this already and got to find something else to amuse me. Loves ya Donna

Hello and Welcome to my Blog

Well being there is sooooooooooo much out here in Deming, NM to do. Decided no better time like the present to start a blog. I arrived here last Thursday (3 days ago) and am a right bored. Miffed. Upset. Lonely. Did I say bored?? Today is Easter Sunday, so Happy Easter to all those that are reading this. Will post some more later today. Going to get ready in a bit and head out. Walmart (yes they have one, thank goodness) to get some Nyquil got a bit of a cold, it is hard to regulate temp in this hotel room. Ride past the hospital I will be working at. And that will be the highlight of my day. Well besides working on this blog. LOL So I am hanging in there and will catch those of you up on this adventure later on. Thanks for stopping by!!
